Bojinka II- Saving Musharraf's Musharraf

The following interesting details have emerged about the Bojinka-II plot.

1) The Brits recruited a member of the plot and had him/her penetrate the network. The British agent exposed the plot and provided a tip off that led the Pakistanis to arrest the plotters.

2) The Brits weren't keen to move in on the group just yet as the attack cells weren't in position. The Brits wanted to wait but the Americans lost their nerve and pressured the Brits to haul the men in.

3) The Pakistanis were brought in after the Brits decided to pull the plug and then Rauf, the key plotter, was "rendered" to the Pakistanis for "arrest".

4) Now the Pakistanis are claiming Matiur Rehman, a Al Qaida "number 3" man is responsible for this attack and they are also claiming that he was responsible for the July 11 attacks.

This entire Bojinka II thing is looking like something created to take the heat of Musharraf's Musharraf and the Americans were desperate to have this show be arranged right now.

A few weeks down the road the Pakistanis will catch some poor vagrant outside Rawalpindi railway station and drag him out to Golra Mor and shoot him. After that they will publish any number of photos of him and claim they have killed the man responsible for the July 11 attack on Mumbai.

The Americans news channels will gladly lend a hand to this Pakistani drama.

Aah.. the American led Save our Musharraf campaign continues relentlessly.

Maverick,

What was it that so urgently required the Americans to jump the gun and push the Brits into arresting these people before they wanted to?

The LeT was recently threatening dire consequences to any Indian attack on PoK. Maybe that has something to do with what seems to have unnerved the Americans.

P.S. - You seem to lurk in that thoroughly disreputable forum. Didn't you leave that place before the anatomical connotation of the word Musharaff was coined?

Maybe the Americans are convinced that we are about to do something terrible and upsetting? they did the best they could to show that the world cannot live without Musharraf.

God forbid if India had done what Israel had done, and endangered the Pakistani equivalent of a colour revolution government, that would be too much work for one month.

I think Musharraf's Musharraf is an old term developed by an insidious fellow on the disreputable forum. I think he coined the concept of "speaking through my musharraf". After that several more polite versions of the same were coined elsewhere such as "aayiye huzoor musharraf rakhiye" and the even more polite "Huzoor aapki musharraf kahin aur le jaye ye". Ofcourse due to the rising influence of Islamists, little children in Pakistan are slowly being taught to say "Hai Allah, yeh school bench par baithne sey Musharraf me dard hota hain" and Pakistani teenagers are coming around to calling each other a "Pain in the Musharraf".

The only ones that are resisting the use of this new terminology is Punjabi Pakistanis who feel using this term will pander to Mohajir sentiments and allow Biharis to rule the country forever. I am sure as you know already, the joke goes that only the one with the biggest musharraf is allowed to lead Pakistan. No self respecting Punjabi Jat muslim is going to like it if you tell him he has a big musharraf.
